Industrial heritage, reborn
In 1892, industrialist Juraj (György) Rakottyay founded the First Hungarian Enamelware Factory in Lučenec. At its peak it employed more than 1,000 workers, and its lion-branded enamel cookware reached households across Europe. The main building, erected in 1895, still stands — and lives again.
A careful renovation led by Bratislava-based GutGut architects preserved the building’s historic layers and won the CE ZA AR architecture award. Today it houses 14 loft apartments, restaurants, shops and a coworking hub. Full history →
